I'm delighted to have been offered a month's artist's residency in the Old Parcels Office, Scarborough Railway Station to take place between 1 - 31 August 2016.
I'll be back in my home town working on a self initiated project exploring Landscape and Memory.
here is the brief -
"The Old Parcels Office is a new arts venue set in a Grade 2 listed building on the platform at Scarborough railway station, which has been recently part-renovated, supported by Arts Council England. We are offering opportunities throughout the summer of 2016, for visual artists to live and work in the beautiful Yorkshire coast town of Scarborough, for periods ranging from one month to three months. Selected artists will be offered the time and space to concentrate on the development of their work, and the chance to experiment and engage with artists working in different areas and approaches to their practise. The studio is part renovated, measures 16 x 8 meters and is 14 meters high, and has fabulous potential for artists to work with no restrictions on size. We also provide professional development support throughout the residency. There will be the option to give a public presentation or workshop, or similar event during the residency, and the chance to present the resulting artwork in an exhibition at the Old Parcels Office at the end of the residency. We also offer professional development support throughout."
Roll on Summer!
