I was happy to see my series of paintings in response to Schubert's string quartet 'Death and the Maiden' hung at Syde Manor for the Cheltenham Music Fetsival Carducci String quartet and friends wonderful Schubert weekend. A dramatic and rather terrifying piece of early 19th century music with more than a hint of the Gothic provoked a strong visual response - quite different from cool but passionate Shostakovich last year!
