My latest series of responses to the Carducci Quartet recording of Shostakovich Quartet 11 will be on the Hadfield Fine Art stand at the Bristol Affordable Art Fair between 9 - 11 September 2016.
I'm delighted! This is really an extraordinary quartet comprising seven short, bullet-like movements of intense emotion, played as one continuous piece. I was completely inspired to create seven intense moody landscapes bases loosely on memories of the mountains and forests of Snowdonia, and, as in the 8th quartet, the River Severn.
